Before Wrinkle Treatment

After Wrinkle Treatment

The number of men having cosmetic procedures is growing, who would have thought?! Of course it’s growing, men are not immune to ageing nor are they immune to the competition, in as far as looking fresher and younger makes one more competitive in the race for attracting a mate and in the corporate ladder climb. Actually, in terms of the corporate ladder it’s more about looking approachable and relaxed not stern and grumpy.

We have operated two anti-ageing skin clinics in Melbourne since 1996 and the number of men having anti-wrinkle and wrinkle relaxant injections has grown solidly since that time. Dermal fillers, laser, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and microdermabrasion all have increased as well, naturally. The only thing that has not grown amongst men is sclerotherapy for leg veins and that is because it’s rare for men to develop these in the first place.

With treatments starting at $300, price does not exclude a lot of men, even those on a lower income. People squirrel away a few dollars here and there and visit us twice a year to soften their appearance, and by softening I don’t mean we make them look boyish or wimpy, we alter the injection sites for men so they keep their strong brows and manly looks so they won’t be kicked off the footy team.

Bro-Inject, Cosmo-Man, Smooth-Man, Dermal “Fella” whatever you call it, men arrive at the clinics wanting to look better and less tired while still looking natural.

Acne Treatment & Scar Reduction

Q. I am 29 years old and have been suffering from acne for years. I have marks in my skin that I would like to get rid of and have heard that Fraxel is the best treatment for this. Can you please tell me how much this treatment costs?

A. Thank you for your email enquiry regarding Acne treatments and Scar reduction.

Span Aesthetics’s extensive experience and unique protocols designed by renowned Cosmetic Physician Dr Paul Spano will get you fast and long term results. How and when the treatments are applied in combination with advanced medical treatments is the key to rapid success.

There are many ways we can address your acne and we have seen significant improvement and management quite easily by combining clinic treatments with the correct home care regime. Acne Treatments are generally targeted at decongesting the skin using either Microdermabrasion ($140/session) or Chemical peels or both. We offer a variety of peels ranging from very light Glycolic peels to deeper medical strength peels. Most people are suited to what we call the Span Aesthetics Peel. This is a Jessner-type peel that will give you a light exfoliation and address many skin concerns such as pigmentation, pores, acne and is great for a general skin refresher.

This peel is $140/session and we generally suggest approximately 3 sessions monthly, with maintenance peeling every 3/months or so after that.

Generally with regards to acne scarring skin treatments we look to control any active acne prior to treatment for scarring. Red/brown blemishes respond well to the treatments as mentioned above. If you are suffering from pitted or deeper scarring then Fraxel laser is your best treatment option.

Fraxel is $950/session for the full face and for scarring we would generally suggest 3-5/sessions, with most people seeing a good improvement after 3.

We do require an initial consultation with our Doctor or Nurses or Therapists so that we can assess your skin to determine the most appropriate acne treatment approach.

We have a consultation fee of $50 with our Nurses and Therapists and this is fully redeemable off your first skin treatment.

I hope this has been of some assistance and please do not hesitate to contact our rooms at your earliest convenience to organise an appointment for consultation and assessment.
